Harry has just got a one month old Weimar.  All his previous dogs had names beginning with D – Daisy, Doris, Dora…. This one is still looking for a name.

An elderly couple used to run a clothes shop just round the corner from our house. It’s been closed for the last 4 months, and about a week ago it was looted. One man, who I have issues with, goes there every morning to get a new outfit for the day.

Our water in Heraklion is rationed to 4 hours roughly every other day. In this time we pump like crazy to fill the tank on the roof. Thankfully we’ve only run out of water twice this summer, and haven’t had too many sponge baths. So I, possibly alone, was pleased to see the big black clouds this morning and feel the first drops of rain since April.

Kommos Beach

Kommos Beach, where the only problem is the owner of the bar, who is particularly unpleasant.  His minions make a fine toasted sandwich though.

And poppy of course. Who irritated everybody by barking, eating sh*t and digging a hole under my head.

That night we decided to camp in the organised camping instead of on the beach. Being the end of the season it was quiet and not the noise-fest I was expecting.
