At long last…..?

For two whole years the promenade near our flat has been cordoned off, forcing pedestrians onto the road. I’ve moaned about this before (here). In this time I’ve not seen one person working in the area (unless you include those  picnicking at the table, visible in the foreground). Now it looks like they are going to fill in the hole with soil – wahey!

The New Promenade

A huge area of urban wasteland by the sea is being turned into a park with an extensive promenade. When built there will be 5 kilometers of continuous coastal path. Popi and I have been testing it out.

3 Years Of Good Service

With regret I have to announce the demise of our hardworking kitchen knife.

In the background you can see my Michaelangelo’s David apron – in which I prepare all my best dishes.

Granny Mafia

Never have I seen so many Grannies. Sunday morning, all the oldies of Hania pack into the churches, and push and shove and poke their way to the front to get a touch of the Priest (&travel agent?). This Sunday was no exception, and the added draw of a missionary from Madagascar meant that there wasn’t even any standing room left inside. By all accounts the sermon bombed – as the main man recounted his weekly routine with the ’savages’ for about an hour.

Danae and Michael.

It’s easy to knock Danae’s infatuation with MJ, but I’m here to defend it. First off he holds a suitcase of masterful popsongs in one hand (and one of slush in the other). Secondly D’s loyalty is unswerving and has survived numerous attacks. And finally she herself admits he is a nutcase.

For this I would come to the O2 arena too – not that you’ll let me.

Danae I salute you.
