The Captain’s Table

OMG what a great meal at ‘O Capetanios’, Harry’s restaurant.

Crab in lemon and oil, grilled octopus and giant prawns. Dipped in tzatziki and washed down with Ouzo.

Not to mention Harry’s warm greeting and George the waiter – he’s one of the things I like best about the restaurant – old-school – more like a butler.

Shame I didn’t get any pictures. Next time – it won’t be long

Next to Agios Dimitrios, just off August 25

The Urban Forager

I’ve always got my eyes open for a spot of freeganism. Today I was cunning personified as I walked into a computer shop, had a quick look at their laptops, and walked out with the gratuity coffee and biscuits to sit in the park. I can feel a habit forming.

A few weeks of this will make up for the dismal service they gave me when I used to buy things there.

Projector Premiere

After a landslide victory in the Projector Poll, a Sony VPL-EX5 has been ordered. Anyway we’re going to have a open-house* first-screening when it arrives.

What film should we show?

Lela’s Line

There’s literally no insulation between our flat and the one above. In fact we can see if the lights are on. So it’s not surprising that we can hear our neighbours. And Lela and Nina like to sing. Thankfully they’ve got lovely voices and Nina in particular sings beautiful Georgian ballads. Lela on the other hand is more influenced by pop – and sings the same line over and over again. Today it’s an excerpt from Bohemian Rhapsody (recently back in the charts)
