Expats

Iraklio hasn’t got that many expats, as most people who move to Crete come for the sea or the countryside, not a concrete shantytown. However a few more have landed recently. Quite often a you hear a rumour of their existence, whether you eventually meet them or not. For instance I know there’s a 32 year-old Welsh guy lurking out there somewhere.

Poppy In The Wars

Late last night Poppy got into a fight with a rottweiler. It bit her on the leg, horrifying Danae and I. We pulled the attacking dog away, but Poppy was very shaken.

Today she’s stiffened up and hobbling around, licking the puncture holes on a back leg. But it could have been much worse.

A walk that’s got it all…

A monastery, a gorge, a shepherd’s hut, caves, an abandoned village, a church in the rocks, an inconcruous bridge and a ‘fyord’…
